PRODUCTION MANAGER BRUSH FERRULES
LOCATION: MAURITIUS
COMPANY: ISLAND BRUSH COMPANY LTD
Main Responsibilities
• Manage the ferrule production workshop, covering both finishing (electroplating, laser marking, coloring, cataphoresis) and mechanical fabrication (swaging, polishing, drawing, annealing, tooling). • Supervise a team of approximately 30 operators and technicians, 2 supervisors ensuring productivity, quality, and safety.
• Oversee and optimize electroplating processes (bright copper, nickel, gold, cataphoretic lacquer, coloring).
• Supervise the operation and maintenance of swaging machines, polishing lines, furnaces, and other equipment.
• Ensure the design, maintenance, and accuracy of dies, mandrels, and tooling drawings for ferrule production.
• Manage the wastewater treatment process related to both galvanoplasty and polishing.
• Monitor production indicators, 5S, and continuous improvement tools (Top 5 /visual management).
• Coordinate with the Production Planning team for launching and following up work orders (OFs).
• Lead technical improvements to reduce rework, increase efficiency, and maintain high quality standards.
• Drive process improvement and automation initiatives within the workshop.
• Report regularly to senior management on workshop performance, challenges, and progress.
Candidate Profile
• Education: Degree/Diploma in Electroplating, Industrial Chemistry, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification).
• Experience: Minimum 10 years in electroplating and/or metal finishing industry, with strong
exposure to workshop management and tooling.
• Technical skills:
• In-depth knowledge of electroplating processes and surface finishing.
• Strong understanding of mechanical processes (swaging, polishing, annealing, machining).
• Ability to read, design, and validate dies, mandrels, and technical drawings.
• Familiar with water treatment systems for industrial processes.
• Management skills: Proven track record in managing teams of 20+ people in a production environment.
• Soft skills: Leadership, rigor, adaptability, and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Quality-focused and driven, with ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Language: English (working language); French is a plus (optional)
